Quota International of Indiana, PA will be hosting its third annual Spa Day on Saturday, March 20,
2004 as the club’s primary fundraiser for 2003-2004. Funds raised will be used for the Club’s philanthropic community service projects, including service to speech and hearing-impaired individuals and aid to disadvantaged women and children of Indiana County.
“We had many people purchase gift certificates for friends and relatives,” said Spa Day committee chair Megan White. “A variety of gift certificates in many different price ranges are available now for those wishing to give a special gift of revitalization and relaxation to a friend, co-worker or relative,” she said.
Gift certificates are available by calling White at 724-349-9093. Persons receiving certificates will be contacted to schedule the Spa Day session time at the recipient’s convenience.
This year’s Spa Day will be held at the Indiana Holiday Inn on Wayne Avenue. Gold Sponsors for this year are the Holiday Inn of Indiana; Norma White Realty; Indiana County Chamber of Commerce and Cats Up Graphics. Silver Sponsors include David J. Myers, Ameritas Financial Services; Clawson’s Notary Service; The Coney Island; Pennsylvania Barbeque; Robinson Lytle Funeral Home and S&T Bank.
Spa Day offers a morning or afternoon session of pampering and a variety of special spa type services, all donated by area professionals. The $75 package includes table massage, manicure and hand paraffin dip, makeup application, hair styling and style-shot photo.
The club is offering free on-site childcare for any Spa Day participant.
New this year is a hot stone massage. The popular European Facial Treatment, a premium service added in 2003, is being continued this year and is available to a very limited number of participants. This 45-minute session, including steaming, scrubbing, suctioning, a mask, cleansing, pore opening and exfoliation, is available for only $75. Students from the Indiana County Technology Center will be performing this special service.
The Indiana County Technology Center joins more than 25 licensed professionals from Indiana County to do all of the various spa treatments. They will also have their products available for on-site purchasing.
Additionally, a variety of Spa Boutique sales tables will be assembled for participants to browse while they wait for their next treatment.
“With the success of last year’s event, our club members are sincerely looking forward to Spa Day 2004, and the community has joined in this excitement,” said White.
Over the past two years, Spa Day funds have been used to purchase a classroom amplification system at Homer Center Elementary School and Penns Manor School and to provide funds for Quota’s mentoring project for young women in the community and support to the Alice Paul House for battered women and children.
“We have wonderful support from the professionals in our community who are providing the Spa Day services, and we are looking forward to a wonderful day for the participants and a great fundraising project to benefit Indiana County,” White added. “We are also very appreciative of the Holiday Inn for the donation of the facilities for Spa Day, and look forward to the refreshment menu they will be offering to Spa Day participants.”
