INDIANA, Pa. - QUOTA INTERNATIONAL OF INDIANA, PA RECOGNIZES WINNER OF SIXTH ANNUAL ST. PATTY’S DAY, ANNOUNCES FUNDRAISING TOTAL
Members of Quota International of Indiana, Pa. Inc. recognized the winning team and winning hole of the sixth annual St. Patty’s Day Open held March 11, a nine-hole, indoor golf tournament to support Downtown Indiana and local charities in the Indiana community, and announced that $15,000 was raised during the event.
Richmond Insurance won the event and Wolfendale’s won for best hole. The best hole was selected by the participating golfers. In addition to Wolfendales, downtown businesses hosting holes included Al Patti’s, Cozumel, Culpeppers, Grubs, Kangaroo’s, Spaghetti Benders, Upstairs at the Coney and Wolfendale’s.
Environmental Service Labs was this year’s signature sponsor for the event. More than 40 other businesses and individuals are participating as event sponsors and tee sponsors for the project.
In January, Quota of Indiana, in partnership with The Coney Island, raised more than $5,000 for the Alice Paul House during its eighth annual Alice Paul House fundraising event. To date, Quota International of Indiana has raised and donated more than $42,000 to the Alice Paul House.
Quota International of Indiana is also a Bronze Sponsor for the Downtown Indiana Renaissance Indiana revitalization project.
The club recently completed its “Gutchies for Kidz” program, a project to collect new underwear for homeless children in our region. The club more than exceeded its goal, collecting more than 1,000 pairs for children.
The club also recently hosted Quota International’s International President Dr. Gwenn Jackson for a special community focus group, discussing community impact.
Other projects include ongoing mentoring events, including a business tour; a career planning event; and a summer pool party; support for Deaf Awareness Day at the Indiana Mall; purchase of classroom amplification systems for children who are hard of hearing; and support for the local ATHENA elementary school club.
Quotarians also continue to sponsor families through the Salvation Army Treasures for Children program, provide holiday gifts for teenagers in the Circles program, and participated in the Salvation Army Red Kettle program and volunteered at the Blue Spruce Festival of Lights.
Quota of Indiana also recently made donations to the Saving Soles Inc., program, providing shoes for women entering the workforce; the first and second Back to School Bash program; to ICCAP homeless shelter; and to the IUP ATHENA Club, the first ATHENA club at a college or university.
Quota International Inc. is a 90-year-old international service organization that links members of all ages, occupations and nationalities in a worldwide network of service and friendship. With a motto of "we share," Quotarians are known especially for their service to deaf, hard-of-hearing and speech impaired individuals and disadvantaged women and children. Quota International of Indiana, Pa., Inc., with 50 active members, is 55 years old.
