INDIANA, Pa. - QUOTA INTERNATIONAL OF INDIANA, PA INC. INSTALLS NEW MEMBERS, OFFICERS

 

Quota International of Indiana, Pa. Inc. installed new officers and welcomed two new members at its May meeting.

Diane Giever and Amy Lockard, both of Indiana, were installed as new members of the group, and the following new officers also were installed:  Brenda DiCicco, president;  Amy Taylor-Liboski, president-elect; Gina Lehman, vice president;  Jaime Kunselman, secretary; Valerie Decker, treasurer; Jennifer Jendrejeski, treasurer-elect; and board members Sara Dillon, Sherry Holuta and Susan Honacker.

Past president Meghan Foulk installed the officers and was recognized for her election as District 3 Lieutenant Governor. Quota of Indiana is one of seven clubs in the western Pennsylvania region that are part of District 3.

The club recently presented funds to Literacy Links for Little Ones Inc., a program for new parents encouraging literacy and reading to children; and to Hopeful Hearts, a center for grieving children, adolescents and their families.

Quota International of Indiana, Pa., Inc., raised $15,000 during the sixth annual St. Patty’s Open, a nine-hole, indoor golf tournament to support Downtown Indiana and local charities in the Indiana community.

In January, Quota of Indiana, in partnership with The Coney Island, raised more than $5,000 for the Alice Paul House during its eighth annual Alice Paul House fundraising event. To date, Quota International of Indiana has raised and donated more than $42,000 to the Alice Paul House.

Quota International of Indiana is also a Bronze Sponsor for the Downtown Indiana Renaissance Indiana revitalization project.

The club recently completed its  “Gutchies for Kidz” program, a project to collect new underwear for homeless children in our region distributed through the Armstrong-Intermediate Unit. The club more than exceeded its goal, collecting more than 1,000 pairs for children.

The club also recently hosted Quota International’s International President Dr. Gwenn Jackson for a special community focus group, discussing community impact.

Other projects include ongoing mentoring events, including a business tour; a career planning event; and a summer pool party; support for Deaf Awareness Day at the Indiana Mall; purchase of classroom amplification systems for children who are hard of hearing; and support for the local ATHENA elementary school club.

Quotarians also have provided holiday gifts for teenagers in the Circles program and continue to sponsor families through the Salvation Army Treasures for Children program. Quotarians also volunteer for the Salvation Army Red Kettle program the Blue Spruce Festival of Lights.

Quota of Indiana also recently made donations to Hopeful Hearts of Indiana, a center for grieving children; the Saving Soles Inc., program, providing shoes for women entering the workforce; the first and second Back to School Bash program; to ICCAP homeless shelter; to the Horace Mann and IUP ATHENA Clubs, the first ATHENA clubs at an elementary school a college or university in the nation, respectively.                                    
Quota International Inc. is a 90-year-old international community impact organization that links members of all ages, occupations and nationalities in a worldwide network of service and friendship. 

With a motto of “we share,” Quotarians are known especially for their service to deaf, hard-of-hearing and speech impaired individuals and disadvantaged women and children.  Quota International of Indiana, Pa., Inc., with 50 active members, is 55 years old.
