INDIANA, Pa. - QUOTA INTERNATIONAL OF INDIANA, PA INC. RECOGNIZES 25-YEAR MEMBER, FIVE-YEAR MEMBERS

 

Quota International of Indiana, Pa. Inc. recognized a 25-year member and four five-year members at its August meeting.

Kathy Honacki, of Indiana, was recognized with a special presentation honoring her 25 years of membership. Four members -- Meghan Foulk, Carol Fry, Betsy Lauber and Jean Stephens, all of Indiana -- were recognized for five years of membership.

Quotarians completed plans for the Sept. 8 professional development seminar, “How to Connect to Customers and Co-Workers Not Like You.” A limited number of tickets are available for the event, planned for the Indiana Country Club.

Reliant Holdings is the platinum sponsor for the event. Silver sponsors are The Reschini Group and New Story. Blue sponsors are the Center for Family Business at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana First Bank, Indiana Regional Medical Center’s Spirit of Women, Norma White Realty and S&T Bank. Stephanie Rosenberger of Big Girl Marketing is providing marketing services for the project.

The program will be presented by nationally recognized marketing expert Kelly McDonald. McDonald, president of McDonald Marketing of Dallas, Texas, which has been twice named one of the top advertising agencies in the United States by “Advertising Age” magazine. She is the author of “How to Market to People Not Like You,” which has been number four on “Inc. Magazine’s” Business Books Best Seller List for four consecutive months and selected as a “Forbes” Top Five Business Books of 2011.

The program will be held at the Indiana County Club from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tickets for the event are $45 per person and include breakfast and a hardcover copy of McDonald’s book. Sponsors have the opportunity to meet privately with McDonald for a working luncheon following the event.

All proceeds from the event will be used to provide services and scholarship funds for individuals who are deaf and hearing-impaired.

Quota International Inc. is a 90-year-old international organization that links members of all ages, occupations and nationalities in a worldwide network of community impact, professional networking and friendship.

With a motto of “we share,” Quotarians are known especially for their service to deaf, hearing and speech impaired individuals and disadvantaged women and children.  Quota International of Indiana, Pa., Inc., with 50 active members, is 55 years old.
Quota of Indiana recently presented funds to Literacy Links for Little Ones Inc., a program for new parents encouraging literacy and reading to children; and to Hopeful Hearts, a center for grieving children, adolescents and their families.

Quota International of Indiana, Pa., Inc., raised $15,000 during the sixth annual St. Patty’s Open, a nine-hole, indoor golf tournament to support Downtown Indiana and local charities in the Indiana community.

In January, Quota of Indiana, in partnership with The Coney Island, raised more than $5,000 for the Alice Paul House during its eighth annual Alice Paul House fundraising event. To date, Quota International of Indiana has raised and donated more than $42,000 to the Alice Paul House.

Quota International of Indiana is also a Bronze Sponsor for the Downtown Indiana Renaissance Indiana revitalization project.

The club recently completed its “Gutchies for Kidz” program, a project to collect new underwear for homeless children in our region distributed through the Armstrong-Intermediate Unit. The club more than exceeded its goal, collecting more than 1,000 pairs for children.

The club also recently hosted Quota International’s International President Dr. Gwenn Jackson for a special community focus group, discussing community impact.
Other projects include ongoing mentoring events, support for Deaf Awareness Day at the Indiana Mall, purchase of classroom amplification systems for children who are hearing-impaired, support for the Salvation Army Treasures for Children and Red Kettle program, and providing volunteers for the Blue Spruce Festival of Lights.
Quotarians also have provided financial support for the local ATHENA elementary school club; holiday gifts for teenagers in the Circles program; a donation to Hopeful Hearts of Indiana, a center for grieving children and families; a donation to Literacy Links program for infants and their families; donations to the Saving Soles Inc., program, providing shoes for women entering the workforce; the Back to School Bash program; and ICCAP homeless shelter.
