QUOTA OF INDIANA PLANNING FIFTH ANNUAL EVENT TO BENEFIT ALICE PAUL HOUSE

Quota International of Indiana and The Coney Island Restaurant are actively planning for the 2008 fifth annual Alice Paul House event upstairs@theconey on Jan. 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event is expected to raise almost $5,000 for the Alice Paul House.

Over the past four years, Quota and The Coney have together raised almost $18,000 to support initiatives for women and children at the Alice Paul House, including a new playground at the facility. Quotarians also collect specific items of need throughout the club year for the Alice Paul House.

Tickets for the event are $25 per person and include heavy hors d’ouevres and beverage sampling, courtesy of several area vendors. Donated door prizes also will be given away during the event. All items for the event are provided free of charge, so all proceeds from ticket sales and other special events during the event go to the Alice Paul House. Music will be provided by a group directed by Dr. Keith Young, IUP professor of music.

“The Coney Island Restaurant, Cats-Up Graphics, our musicians and the beverage vendors have been incredibly generous year after year, and have helped us to make this event a great success,” said Quota President Connie McCardle. “Quota International of Indiana is very proud to be part of this fundraising initiative, which provides support especially for children at the Alice Paul House,” McCardle said.

Tickets are available from any Quotarian or by calling Carol McQuaide, event chairperson, at 724-463-0512, or Quotarian Meghan Foulk at 724-349-6935.

Quotarians also are actively planning for the third annual St. Patty’s Day Open on March 14, an indoor nine-hole golfing event in Downtown Indiana to raise funds for the club’s service projects.
