QUOTA DONATES TO BACK TO SCHOOL BASH PROGRAM FOR SECOND YEAR

Quota International of Indiana, Pa. Inc. has donated $1,500 raised during its recent fundraising events to the second annual “Back to School Bash,” a program designed to help low-income families with back to school needs for their children.
This is the second year that Quota has offered financial support for this program, which will be held Aug. 21 on Church Street. It is sponsored by a coalition of community churches and organizations.
The group is also actively planning for a “meet and greet” event for potential new members on Aug. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Café Amadeus, 628 Philadelphia St.
The event is open to all interested persons. Refreshments will be offered as well as information about Quota International of Indiana, Pa. Inc.
Quota International of Indiana, Pa. Inc. is an international service club with 50 members. It meets monthly. Quota International Inc. is a 90-year-old international service organization that links members of all ages, occupations and nationalities in a worldwide network of service and friendship. With a motto of "we share," Quotarians are known especially for their service to deaf, hard-of-hearing and speech impaired individuals as well as disadvantaged women and children.
In March, the club raised more than $10,000 from its fifth annual St. Patty’s Day indoor golf outing.
In January, in partnership with The Coney Island, Quota International of Indiana, Pa., raised more than $5,000 for the Alice Paul House during its seventh annual Alice Paul House fundraising event. To date, Quota International of Indiana has raised and donated more than $27,000 to the Alice Paul House.
Quota International of Indiana is also a Bronze Sponsor for the Downtown Indiana Renaissance Indiana revitalization project.
The Club continues an active schedule of community service in addition to support of the Alice Paul House, including presentation of a Gold Scholarship for a non-traditional female student who has successfully completed the New Choices, New Options program and who has gained acceptance to a program to further her education in order to accomplish her professional and career goals; presentation of a scholarship for a student at IUP in the speech and hearing program; a mentoring program for girls and teens; donations of speech and hearing textbooks to area doctor’s offices, aging services and nursing homes; and donations of sound amplification devices to area school districts.
